A Letter From Commissioner Rose Harvey

On behalf of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, welcome to Riverbank State Park! 

I'm thrilled our wonderful park is hosting New York City's "Big Apple" handball tournament for the second year. It's exciting to give the best team handball players in Europe and New York City an opportunity to compete here at Riverbank.

This event is representative of what makes Riverbank such a unique place. Riverbank welcomes and encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the many activities that build minds, muscle, friends, family and community. The exciting sport of team handball, with it's international flavor and growing popularity in the United States, is a great match for our diverse park. And, as the biggest gathering in the United States of some of the best players and coaches of the world, the Big Apple tournament is a great chance for New York City sports fans to see the second most popular team sport in Europe right here.

My best wishes for a successful event. We at Riverbank look forward to continuing to be a partner in growing the popularity of the great sport of team handball.
