Hello everyone,
I hope that everyone has had a restful and pleasant
summer. I certainly have tried to fill my own summer with travel, family and of
course some work. Now that summer is coming to an end, It will be great to see everyone this upcoming Saturday, September 11
at 6PM at Park West High School for our first practice of the season.
I am sure you are as excited as I am to get back on
the court. Summer has simply flown by and we are excited to start this new
season, which will be a very exciting and a challenging one.
We look forward to seeing all returning members,
and we will welcome many new faces who will have a chance of becoming members of
New York City Team Handball Club.
We had another highly successful year for New York City Team Handball Club.
In addition to defending titles at Tar Hill Invitational, West Point
Invitational, and winning the title at the North East League, we organized the
first "The Big Apple" international team handball tournament in NYC, where some
of the best handball players in the world participated.
Our club became a not-for-profit charitable organization. We organized
clinics in public schools in NYC, and helped children understand and learn the
game of team handball.
We will remember many moments of joy, and also the moments of feeling
awful. We are a group of people that stay within ourselves and do what we're
capable of. We fought good fights all the time. When people didn't believe in
us, and adversity striked we stayed true to ourselves and made sure we came in
and gave our best every time.
We didn't win this years Nationals, but we still have a lot to hold our
heads high for. I would like to thank all of you who helped make New York City
Team Handball Club the best we can be. We are a diverse and passionate group of
people who are capable of great things.
I look forward to the new and challenging season.
See you on Saturday,
Bini Mustafa-president
